Wellness Exam

Cooper and his pal AvaA regular physical examination is just as important for your pet as it is for you. We recommend a comprehensive physical examination for your pet at least once a year. More frequent exams are important for geriatric pets and pets with chronic health concerns.

During a physical examination, we perform a "nose-to-tail" evaluation of your pet. We examine your pet's nose, eyes, ears, check your pet's teeth and oral cavity, listen to the heart and lungs, carefully examine the skin and coat, look for any unusual lumps or swelling, palpate the abdomen and muscles and perform an orthopedic evaluation of the bones, joints and back. We will look for early warning signs of disease, such as gradual unintended weight loss, heart murmurs or dental disease, which can be painful and lead to a loss of appetite or even kidney infections. Our goal is to prevent disease when possible. The time and effort invested in regular physical exams has rewards for both pets and owners.
